Focus Area: Clinical Trial Information Technology
Registration Deadline: NA
ironSAGE is currently pursuing funding to evaluate the use of a digital patient data collection platform during clinical trial site visits and remote patient engagement. For this purpose, a Clinical Trials Digital Patient Engagement and Remote Monitoring Working Group (“Working Group”) is being formed. The aim is to support medical institutions, pharmaceutical companies, and clinical research partners in applying for federal funding. Augmenting clinical trials with an effective platform for digital patient data collection, monitoring and consent results will lead to dramatic improvements in cost, reporting accuracy and approval times.
The Working Group will address key clinical trial patient data management challenges that include paper based patient data collection workflows, and the resulting manual data entry processes that negatively impact clinical trial cost, data quality and trial management efficiency. As part of our efforts, we will work to demonstrate the following: (a) near-real time remote data syncing; (b) the uniform, consistent and high-quality aggregation of data across multiple sites; and (c) more timely data reporting and analysis. In addition, we anticipate improved clinical trial subject diversity based on the ability to more effectively operate within rural and remote locations.
The purpose of the group is gain the funding necessary attract major clinical trial partners, including: sponsors, clinical research organizations, sites and patients. The primary deliverable will be the reported patient engagement, retention and satisfaction results achieved by using a modern, mobile platform that supports higher quality clinical information, faster and at less cost.

The Clinical Trials Digital Patient Engagement and Remote Monitoring Working Group will identify innovative solutions to successfully implement digital data collection tools that improve the efficiency and quality in collecting, analyzing, assessing and reporting patient data. Group participants will gain the tools necessary to streamline data management tasks, reduce cost and increase the value derived from clinical data.
Working group participants consistently rate senior-level interactions and purpose-driven discussions as one of the top reasons for participation. Therefore, all briefing registrants must be senior level management executives (i.e., CIOs, CTOs, COOs, CSOs, CISOs, CMIOs, SVPs, VPs, Directors, etc.) or their equivalent. Innovation Working Groups (IWGs) are invitation-only working groups that generally consist of 3-5 enterprise participants. As “member-driven” collaborations, IWGs support a confidential and collaborative environment for connecting innovative solution providers with major enterprises interested in exploring, validating and acquiring high-value solutions. ironSAGE expert facilitators guide participants in establishing requirements for enterprise pilots and the full-scale adoption of solutions aimed at solving defined technical, business, market or industry challenges.
